Home learning will be given out every Friday and is to be returned completed on a Wednesday. Your child will receive weekly spellings and multiplication tables to learn, as well as two tasks that will be related to their learning in class. Spellings will be tested every Thursday in the back of your child’s home learning book.
Reading is an important part of your child’s home learning and they should be reading for at least 10 minutes daily. It is still really important for them to read aloud regularly in order to discuss the content of what they have read. Children should be encouraged to read a wide variety of texts such as chapter books, magazines, newspapers and non-fiction books which are available at school. A comment should then be written in their reading dairy by yourself or your child.
A labelled white T-shirt, dark shorts or trousers and appropriate footwear needs to be brought in, in a separate bag and may be kept at school all half term.
