What does Modern Foreign Languages look like at Sheringdale?
Spanish and French are the designated Modern Foreign Language (MFL) at Sheringdale. Years 3 and 4 are taught Spanish, whilst Y5 and 6 are taught French. We believe the learning of foreign languages provides a valuable educational, social and cultural experience for children. By developing communication and literacy skills, children can lay the essential foundations required to learn languages, whilst also reinforcing the skills required for learning English. We believe this insight into their own culture and those of others enables them to broaden their knowledge and become more tolerant citizens.
