Home learning

Home learning will be handed out every Friday afternoon and is to be returned completed on a Wednesday.  This will include a list of spellings to learn and timetables.  The spellings will be tested on Thursday mornings in the back of the home learning book. The timetables will be tested on Friday. Please ensure that home learning is completed to a high standard of presentation as expected in their school work.

Reading

Reading is an important part of your child’s home learning and they should be reading for at least 10 minutes daily. It is still really important for them to read aloud regularly in order to discuss the content of what they have read. Children should be encouraged to read a wide variety of texts such as chapter books, magazines, newspapers and non-fiction books which are available at school. A comment should then be written in their reading dairy by yourself or your child.

PE day

Tuesday

PE kits

Children are no longer asked to bring in kits, they just need to come in suitable PE clothes on their day.

Swimming

We are very pleased to announce that we have managed to book swimming lessons for year 4 this year.  Each class will have lessons for one term for one hour each week. Year 4 Holly will start lessons this term.

The first lesson for 4H will be next Tuesday 21st Sept and will continue to the end of term. The lessons will be run by an experienced swimming coach who we have used for many years, who will be assisted by one of the PE team.

Children need to bring a swimming costume or trunks (no board shorts please), a swim hat, which is compulsory and a towel. Swim hats can be purchased online or at Decathlon in Wandsworth.  Swim goggles are not required.
